The LED indicators show you the status of network communication and PoE power at a glance. When connected to a PoE switch, the system uses that power to run the connected receiver. If your switch isn't PoE capable, you can use an optional power source (sold separately) to insert power. The transmitter then uses PoE as its power source and powers whatever PoE device you have connected. It's completely transparent to your network with no IP or MAC addressing needed.
