The protesters targeted members of both parties, with some singing the national anthem. Protesters in the House gallery interrupted members eight times during closing debate on the FY 2012 budget resolution, closing out a hectic day as the House tried to pass a FY 2012 budget resolution.

A small town in West Virginia has essentially disappeared in the wake of the state’s largest surface-mining operation.

BP said Tuesday that it plans to cut its U.S. tax bill by $9.9 billion, or about half the amount pledged to aid victims of the disaster, by deducting costs related to the oil spill.
