Fifty-five years ago yesterday, the "Mother of the Civil Rights movement" Rosa Parks refused to move to the back of the bus. Ms. Parks was trained at the Highlander School in east TN and was part of a grassroots direct action campaign to challenge Jim Crow in Montgomery, AL. Here’s to the organizers and activists who make campaigns like this happen.
