West Coast Convergence for Climate Action!

lng-tanker.jpgBetween August 8-14th Rising Tide and other groups are organizing coordinated Convergence for Climate Action.

Here on the left coast, the Convergence for Climate Action will be located near the mouth of the iconic and Columbia River. There, at the Washington / Oregon border, big companies with support from numerous politicians from around the region (including Democrats), are trying to build a massive liquefied natural gas terminal.

The terminal’s construction is facing ongoing and massive local opposition because of the damage it would cause to the environment, local economy, and due to domestic and international human rights, environmental, and climate concerns.
